It's not that I haven't been stamping..... Because I HAVE! I just haven't had time to post them to my blog... But if you don't mind, nothing fancy... I'll just post a bunch of the items that I've been working on!
Yes, yes.... i know! It has been ages! Long time, no see... right? Well, I have been stamping, just haven't been so good at up-dating my blog. It's a new year, and I have a new stamp room... so hopefully, things will be a lot more up-to-date!
Here's the latest card I've created. It's called a Suspension Card. The small heart in the center is hung there using some white thread. You 'wind' up the small heart before you put it in the envelope, and the person receiving the card watches it spin when they open it up!
Not only do I have some pictures to show you...
But..... I also have a video to go along with this. It's a little 'rocky' in the beginning, but I really didn't feel like doing it over, so... here it is...
BLAH! However, there is one good thing about Mondays..... MOJO sketches!!!
I needed a birthday card for a very good friend of mine... Barb, if you are
reading this STOP! :) However, for those of you that aren't named
Barb, you may continue!
decided to go out of my comfort zone and challenge myself by using some colors
that I wouldn't normally choose.. So my first place to stop is to see what kind
of DSP I have in my stash. I decided to play with International Bazaar.
This particular DSP uses Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, and Pool Party.
sentiment is from the My Friend stamp set and I used "out of the box"
technique. To achieve this look, stamp an image, and lightly draw a
pencil box around your image, making it smaller then your actual image and cut
around those pieces which overhang your box. Then erase your pencil
lines! Seriously, it's THAT easy!
Here is a close up of the butterflies. You can see the Dazzling Details that I added to the wings, and the Shimmer mist that I added to the smaller butterflies.
I made this card for my boss. His wife is having twin Girlsin December, so I wanted to make this card before the girls arrived. This is based on the MOJO268 sketch. I cut apart the retired 'Baby Time' wheel that I had laying around, and also the other retired 'Baby Rattle' jumbo wheel.
Here's the inside of the card:
This is the first time I have ever done paper piecing. I've stamped the baby's bodies on DSP, and then cut out their little outfits. Here's a close up:
I had a lot of fun with this card. The sentiment is from Curly Cute and the circles were cut out using the Bigz dies Scallop Circle and Circle die. The other two circles were the scallop circle punch, and the 1 1/2 inch circle. The letters were diecut using the retired Billboard strip die from last year's catalog. Seems like this card was a blast from the past!!
